New Security Session at InfraMation 2006
10/6/2006
New - Security Applications for Thermal Imaging - MONDAY & REPEATED WEDNESDAY (Free with conference registration)
This session will feature an overview of how thermal imaging can be used for critical infrastructure or perimeter security. Case studies include installations in nuclear power, petrochemical, and other high-value assets. Thermal imagers offer a level of threat detection far beyond that of daylight and lowlight cameras. In the same manner that infrared cameras show hot spots in failing equipment, suspects who attempt to breach security fences and unsecured areas are easily detected, even at extreme ranges. Thermal imagers require no additional lighting, and can be integrated into existing CCTV security networks. Thermographers who work in these industries may offer their expertise internally their security staff, taking away from this session the latest innovations and advancements in low-cost, networked cameras.
