I have situation where I have to take a natural gas burner (20k BTU/hr) and run it on a different gas (99.99% UHP Methane). The test results from the overall system are different than calculated so I would like to measure the actual temperature of the flame cone produced at the burner port.
Bottom line - I am trying to determine a good way to measure the temperature of a flame. I thought about putting a small piece of metal in front of the flame for a controlled amount of time and measure that...
I have a P65 with the High Temperature option. |

I have a P65 with the High Temperature option. You have to find the flame emissivity first.
There are some research about similar flames:
flame emissivity = 1 / 1+(C/D)
D= pool diameter, C=constant
