Can you update thelists of detectable gases that can be seen on the GasFindIR? Is H2S included in this?

| H2S has no absorption in the IR region where the GasFindIR operates. The GasFindIR will not "see" H2S. |

Here is a list of "tested" gases, that we had an independant testing lab conduct:
Benzene
Ethanol
Ethylbenzene
Heptane
Hexane
Isoprene
Methanol
MEK
MIBK

Any idea of the detection limit for the respective detected gases?

The GasFindIR cannot detect SF6.

Thank you Paul. Has anyone have an idea as to the flash and fire point of Pentane and 1 Pentane?

The camera will see the 'carrier' gas. In this case, it will see the methanol portion but not the H2S. Be careful that the concentration of H2S in the methanol is not lethal!
In the refining industry it is rare that a gas will be pure. There are often contaminants in the gas that will enable the GasFindIR to see a leak if these contaminants are one of the gases the camera can see. I have easily detected leaks in reformer recycle gas streams that the operator claims to be pure hydrogen. What we actually see is the pentane/heptane and so on. |
